Sylvia Lucille Stirewalt Maxwell Chandler 77 of Mitchell Oregon passed away August 15, 2010. A memorial service will be held in her honor Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Mitchell Community Hall from 1:00 ~ 3:00 P.M. Sylvia was born on May 14, 1933 in Grangerville, Idaho to Howard A. and Loree L. (Williams) Stirewalt. She attended Prineville High School. After school she married Arnold Risland and Had three children, Donald W., Jennifer Lee and Linda Loree Risland. She divorced Arnold in 1956. In 1961 she the children moved to Mitchell, Oregon. All of the children graduated from Mitchell High School. In 1964 she married Jin Maxwell and was married to Jim unitl his death in September of 1994. Sylvia and William Chandler were married December 20, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sylvia worked most of her life. She was employed by Burnett Box Factory for 6 years, worked 2 years for Wagner’s Food Market, 8 years at the Mitchell Pastime and 27 years for the Mitchell Postal Service. She was a room mother for 6 years at the Mitchell School. She was a member of the American Legion. She enjoyed “putting on” lots of dinners with them. She was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies Club in Mitchell and the Quilt Club of Mitchell, Oregon. Sylvia enjoyed her garden, loved growing her flowers, quilting, crafting, fishing at Allen Creek and she loved her antique Ball Jar collection. Next to her family, It was her pride and joy. Sylvia got a lot of joy out of the time she had her little Antique Store in Mitchell. Sylvia is survived by her daughter Jennifer Baker of Madras, OR; daughter Linda Risland of Portland, OR; brother Mike Stirewalt of Portland, OR; brother Clifford Stirewalt of McMinnville, OR; and nine grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Donny. Contributions may be made to the Mitchell Ambulance Fund. |

 Frances Myrtle Catt 83, of Bend, Oregon passed away August 14, 2010. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Please contact family for details. Frances was born on January 8, 1927 in Glendale, Oregon to Willard Francis Johnson and Grace Virginia (James) Johnston. She was a graduate of Forest Grove High School. After school she then moved to Portland and became an Office Clerk. During this time she met and married Rhiney Strecker in 1948. Frances and Rhiney divorced but were married for 29 years. Frances worked for Omark Industries for 32 years at which time she then retired. After retirement she met and married Wayne Catt. They married in 1982 in Reno, Nevada. Her hobbies included: gardening, playing Bunco, walking with her friends, shopping, crocheting, spending time with her family and friends. Frances is survived by her daughter Diane (Bob) Jones of Prineville, OR; daughter Debra J. (Doug) Bunch of Vancouver, WA; son Ronald A. Strecker of Portland, OR; Sister Marcellia Parson of Forest Grove, OR; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Bonita Jane (Lockhart) Dunn passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2010. Bonita was born on April 24, 1929, in Sheridan, Ark. She married James W. Dunn on September 27, 1947. Bonita loved being with her family, especially the little ones. She enjoyed square dancing, sewing, ceramics, painting and drawing. She also enjoyed gardening, and she really loved her flowers. Bonita was a member of the First Baptist Church of Prineville since 1958. Bonita loved reading the Bible. Bonita is survived by her husband James Dunn of Prineville, Or; sons: J. Michael (Sue) Dunn, W. Lee (Frances) Dunn. Sisters: Joan Snider and Dianna Pelkey. Grandchildren: Jim Dunn, Mindi Hoke, Kari Dunn, Nina Dunn, Analee Dunn, and three great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Prineville. Visitation will be held at Whispering Pines Funeral Home on Monday, August 9, 2010 from 2-5 P.M. A graveside service will follow the church service. |

 Wayne F. Tucker 76, of Prineville passed away July 30, 2010. A memorial service will be held from 1-5 P.M. Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Molalla Moose Lodge, 419 Eckard Street, Molalla, Oregon. Wayne was born on September 4, 1933 in Hat Creek, Wyoming to Lawrence and Ethel (Steven) Tucker. After school Wayne enlisted with the Wyoming National Guard. Wayne retired from the Lumber Industry, where he worked as a Planner Man. Wayne married Nina Perlenfein on August 8, 1955 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Wayne had many hobbies. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, working on older cars and four wheeling. Wayne was a member of the Moose Lodge in Molalla. He was proud to be a member of the Moose Lodge and he did many projects with them. Wayne got a lot of joy out of bowling for the Moose. He is survived by his daughter Sherri (Vaughn) Burlingame of Prineville, OR; and brother Larry Tucker of Umatilla, Or. |

 Edward Roland Muffley 72, of Prineville, Oregon passed away due to ongoing illness on July 28, 2010, Ed passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ed was the first born to Roland and Dorothy Muffley. He was born November 25, 1937. Nancy, Max and Fred soon followed. All born and raised in Fairfield, Idaho. Ed graduated from High School in Fairfield and went on to join the Navy. He served three years in Japan. He then met and married Diane Harp, his wife of 49 years. They had two children, Mike and Tami. Ed was a successful business owner. He owned Muffley Masonry in Prineville for 40 years. Ed is survived by his loving wife Diane Muffley of Prineville, Or; daughter Tami (John) Snyder of Prineville, Or; son Mike Muffley of Camas, Wa. Ed also leaves behind a granddaughter Ashley (Fernando) Barajas of Eugene, Or; and his four legged friend “Zipper”. He enjoyed; fishing in the Big Summit area, trips to the Oregon Coast. Ed really enjoyed spending time with his wonderful friends. They would enjoy a “cup or two” of coffee every morning. Ed will forever be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his love of people.
