 William “Bill” Hamilton 59, of Prineville, Oregon passed away January 22, 2010. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 2:00 P.M. at Whispering Pines Funeral Home Chapel, 185 N.E. 4th St. Prineville, Oregon. Bill was born in Havre, Montana on March 17, 1950 to Claude and Eulalia (Montee) Hamilton. He attended Havre Public High School in Havre, Montana. He was a talented athlete competing in track & basketball. He attended Northern Montana College from 1968 to 1972 earning a broad field science degree. He taught Science and coached football and track from 1972-1974 at Havre High School in Havre, Montana. He later worked as a banker and then for the Police and Sheriff’s department in Columbia Falls, Montana. In 1979 He went to work for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad in Havre and became an engineer, retiring in 2002. He substitute taught in the Helena Public Schools in Helena, Montana from 2002-2005. In 1969 he married Janice J Schmitt of Libby, Montana. They had two children, Libby was born in 1973 and Robb was born in 1976. . In 2005 Bill married Lorna Petrovich in Helena Montana. The couple moved to Prineville, Oregon 6 months later. Bill was a lifetime member of the Masons of Montana Lodge 134. Bill enjoyed riding motorcycles and was an avid car enthusiast. He owned and showed many street rods during his lifetime. He also loved to collect and display model cars. He enjoyed listening to music and designing sound systems. He is survived by his wife Lorna Hamilton of Prineville, OR, his father Claude E. Hamilton of Elko, NV; daughter Libby Hill of North Carolina and his son, Robb Hamilton of North Carolina. He had one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his mother Eulalia M Hamilton in 1982.
