Herbert Robert Taylor 94, of Prineville, Oregon passed away February 23, 2010.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Juniper Haven

Cemetery in Prineville. Pastor Carol Parker will officiate.

 

Herbert was born January 5, 1916 in Fort Rock, Oregon to Vernon and Mary (Langdon)

Taylor.  He attended school in Prineville, Oregon. After school Herbert entered the U.S.

Army. Herbert served his country during the WWII era and was sent to Germany.

When his tour of duty was completed he returned to Prineville. It was at this time Herbert

became a Timber Faller and worked in Prineville and the surrounding areas. Herbert was a Timber Faller until he retired.

 

Herbert married Opal Croy on June 6, 1941 in Prineville, Oregon.

 

Herbert enjoyed collecting rocks and arrowheads, fishing, hunting, playing cards and took great joy in spending time in the John Day area.

 

He is survived by his son Terry Eugene Taylor of Canyonville, Or; daughter Donnie Puckett of Prineville, Or; sister Thelma Demaris of Culver, Or; three grandchildren and

seven great grand children.

 

Herbert is preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters and one brother.
